This was a challenging and complex project. It involved designing, building and shipping a tansu style staircase to California. We did the entire project in collaboration with the client, the builder and the architect by email and CAD.
The scope of the project included the stairs and cabinets under them as well as a handrail, two winders and a 7' long railing on the second floor. The case itself shipped in four pieces plus the treads, risers, posts and railings plus a door at the bottom. The delivery went smoothly, and the carpenters (as far as I know) had no problems with the installation. Looking back, 8 months later, I'm thinking the whole thing was leap of faith on everyone's part ... There are severalblog entries that you can access from this link ...
