For almost 6 years, Kit was a professional garden designer and landscaper. With her crew each year, she would maintain such notable public gardens as The Barrows House in Dorset, as well as those of numerous private clients. Somehow, after working all week on her business, she would slowly but surely transform the land around our house into a landscape of inspiration and beauty. Recently, while visiting with a client, I admired her substantial, professionally maintained grounds. She asked if I had "ever seen such a beautiful garden?". Without thinking about tact, I replied that, thanks to Kit, "I live with one every day".
