This piece was made from some wood I accidentally acquired from a local sawyer. It's quartersawn American Sycamore, which is rarely harvested locally because of it's scarcity and problematic water content, which can run as high as 60% of the weight in the green lumber. So, unless it is carefully quartersawn and carefully dried, it becomes light, twisted firewood. These boards were impeccably sawn and dried and I still have a very few of them left. I love it as a wood, but don't know if I'll be able to get more.
